Compared to the classic screw-connector, regardless of the manufacturer, the technician does not need a torque wrench for the CONEC M12 series with bayonet quick-locking. No visual contact is necessary to ensure a secure lock. A quarter turn by hand is enough to establish complete contact. The technician receives tactile and acoustic feedback that the job is done.
Error-free and secure connections.
Locking by hand is not only simple and fast, but also safe. The locking mechanism ensures that the contact is always correct. Depending on the product group, the three-point bayonet lock meets the protection level IP65, IP67 and IP69K. In addition, the series is shock and vibration-proof according to railway requirement IEC 61373:2010 Class 1B.
The bayonet sockets are equipped with an internal (female connector) or external thread (male connector) in the plug-in area, thus ensuring 100% backwards compatibility with standard M12 connectors.
This means that new systems can be equipped with the M12 bayonet without any concerns.
Depending on the design the M12 bayonet series is available in A, B, D and X coding. On the device side, PCB sockets axial and angled, sockets with stranded wire and overmoulded sockets are offered. Field attachable connectors and overmoulded versions as single ended or connecting cables complete the series.
Regardless of what connectors you currently use, there are a number of fundamental problems due to the need to mount them with tools and maintain a certain torque:
With the M12 series connectors with bayonet quick-locking, these problems are a thing of the past. Additionally, you save costs as the work can be done more easily and quickly.
Reliable, robust and easy-to-use plug connections are of central importance in industrial environments. The M12 bayonet system offers an efficient solution for this – especially in applications with frequent tool changes in robotics and/or where installation space is limited.
The M12 bayonet offers a wide range of possible applications in the agricultural sector – especially in light of the increasing digitalization of modern agricultural machinery. Whether for GPS-controlled steering systems, camera technology or sensor technology, the M12 bayonet connector ensures reliable data transmission even under demanding operating conditions. Connectors are also used in places that are difficult to access – for example for light and camera control on tractors.
The M12 bayonet system is of particular interest for the rail technology sector, as it offers high shock and vibration resistance thanks to the bayonet locking mechanism – a decisive factor in applications with high mechanical loads. Particularly in rail vehicles, where permanent shocks, vibrations and dynamic movements are part of everyday life, the reliable locking system ensures permanently stable connections without unintentional loosening.
The connectors are designed in accordance with the draft standard IEC CD 61076-2-011/Ed1 and
